PhotoArk
has been creating digital archives of photographic collections for
historical societies and museums since 1994. We scan original photographs,
negatives, glass plates and lantern slides at high resolution, making
the collection accessible while arresting deterioration of the informational
content of the images.
The
image here is a selection from the Brattleboro Historical Society's
5"X7" glass plate negative collection, which PhotoArk
is presently archiving.
PhotoArk
has developed its own scanning procedures for glass negatives and
lantern slides. The surface of the glass plate does not come into
contact with the flatbed during scanning, thus preventing damage
to the original and ensuring a clean scan. |
