The
Marine Biological Laboratory for the second year
enlisted PhotoArk to produce an exhibition for its Woods Hole, Massachusetts
facility.
This
year's show, called "Wall Charts as Art," displayed examples
from the MBL's collection of late 19th century wall charts. The
charts, originally produced as chromolithographs by Rudolf Leuckart
at the turn of the century, depict "a wide range of zoological
forms, from single cell protozoa to complex arthropods."
PhotoArk scanned
the original wall charts, did extensive restoration work on them,
and printed and mouted the final images for the show.

MBL's Assistant Director of Communications (top right), inspects
the hanging of the show. Bottom image shows one wall in the exhibition
space. |
